If you are coming here looking for the latest on Fashion Week makeup, I'm sorry to say you've come to the wrong place. I may be the only blogger in the world who could not give a crap. I am sick and tired of going to blogs I ordinarily love and reading some kind of breathless praise for looks like the one at right (by the ordinarily wonderful Pat McGrath for Balenciaga). Style.com, from which I yanked this, pretty much self-immolates over the prison-jumpsuit orange pigment McGrath has dabbed on this poor girl's inner eye area. The black stripes up her temples are deemed, I shit you not, subtle. I mean. Either Fashion Week gives us some kind of ridiculousness like this, or there's a "no makeup" look (which uses lots of makeup) or it's (check one) Lips or it's Eyes or it's Lips & Eyes. That's it. For ever and ever, amen--nobody ever need write a Fashion Week (you fill in the city) makeup blog post again. You're welcome.

Don't Try This At Home

I am not a fan of neon makeup in any color but especially not safety orange!
Thank you, thank you, thank you. The Fashion Week makeup posts on many blogs are mind-numbingly boring!
I have completely ditched my once-fave blog primped.com.au for this very reason. Sometimes I think the bloggers are out of their minds to squeal over scribbly faces that look like a 2 yr old coloured on you while you were asleep.
But then I think, if I had no career to look forward to for the rest of my life besides the same old same old pushing-prettifying-products-on-women..
a bit of ugliness might be the most exciting thing to happen to me once a year..
I mean, you have to pity them..
I agree! Fashion? not so much.
I wish people took a serious interest in actual style.
Amen. I'm so sick of fashion week content. One more gushing post about a look involving "perfect," dewy skin, ludicrously dark brows, and three eyeshadows that look like no eyeshadow at all and I'll jump off the roof.
To quote the redneck response to his BFF's last words (which were "Hey, y'all! Watch this!")
"I coulda done it better than that."
Hear, hear!! Thank you for this. I really hate when blogs "stop all normal posting" to post on the crazy eclectic hoo-has of the fashion week. Nothing is even remotely Noramal looking, which I get, but then why try to "sell" it as something all should do.
Thank you for that post.

Is that subtle as in I get that look too when I sleep with mascara on and then rub my eyes in the morning?
Thank you! I can't stand the mindless regurgitation of some of the beauty blogs...sometimes on products that they haven't even used!!! GAH!
